Janelle Alcantara founded Galaxy Modern out of a love for both her family, and architecture. Married for over 20 years to her high school sweetheart, Janelle decided long ago that family would always be her top priority. Rather than sacrificing a career for homelife, she built a business around what matters to her the most: HAPPINESS!
To Janelle, happiness starts with being comfortable in your surroundings. “I realized when I was very young that the ambiance of a home, restaurant, school, or hotel, has a large impact on the way that we feel, think and behave.” says Janelle. The spaces where our lives unfold should be both inspirational and soothing. They should promote collaboration with family & friends, as well as rejuvenate the mind and spirit. “When modernism is perfectly executed, it creates a harmony between the man-made world and nature, it tames the chaos in our lives with order and continuity, and it elevates our attitude.” For these reasons many of the world’s most important buildings are specimens of modern architecture.
But why should we have to visit the Guggenheim, or the Winspear Opera House, to feel that sense of inspiration? Our homes should be a conduit for happiness and peace of mind.
Janelle created Galaxy Modern to help make modern architecture accessible. Our homes are the backdrop for our daily routine and for the memories of our lives and the lives our children.

When she is not working, Janelle enjoys spending time with her daughter, Sierra, her husband, Neil and the family dog. Together, they enjoy traveling, art festivals, painting, photography and rock & roll music!
Janelle Alcantara has been a licensed REALTOR® since 2007. She holds a degree in Communication and Public Relations, and began her real estate career with an education in Real Estate Principals from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2005.
Rosemary comes to the Galaxy Modern team with nearly 20 years of executive sales experience. She has spent most of her life traveling the world and continues to do so which often inspires and attributes to her passion for modern design and architecture.She provides support to Janelle and her clients while also assisting Janelle with branding, PR, client interface, administrative duties, document preparation and management.
Jason Melton – Contract Compliance
Jason Melton brings with him an exceptional range of industry experiences and administrative skills to support clients and to enhance company operations.Once Janelle has drafted the proper contracts and forms for each transaction, acquired the proper signatures from all parties, Jasonthen files all documents. He manages the files for both Buyers and Sellers. He keeps Janelle and Rosemary apprised of TREC changes and modifications to promulgated forms.
Betty Jones – Listing Coordinator and Office Manager
Our team benefits from the 34 years of leadership and management that Betty Jones brings to the table. She is the most efficient and organized office manager on the planet! Betty uploads all property specifications and listing data to create our MLS listings. She manages all property files for our Seller clients. She also records and files our license renewals and continuing education. Without her commitment to excellence and her dedication to the details, we would truly be lost!
Chris Munoz – Graphics & Media
Chris plays a valuable role in our marketing our beautiful properties. He creates custom property brochures, post-cards and e-blasts from the images that we obtain. When we announce a new property offering, or host an event to promote a property, Chris handles the distribution of the marketing materials whether they are mailed or emailed.
